How did you hear about FireEye? Why did you choose FireEye?
I found out about FireEye through an HR Operations Internship position they had open on Glassdoor. What drew me to FireEye was the nature of this position. I would be working closely with the Global Mobility team and working on a ton of projects. I ultimately chose to intern at FireEye because the projects I would work on would make a real impact on the organization. Also, I just think it’s so cool how FireEye helps to fight the bad guys.
What is the most interesting thing you have learned?
The one thing I’ll never forget is our Speaker Session with Kevin Mandia, the CEO. For a whole hour the interns got a chance to ask him any questions. His work ethic and passion for cybersecurity are really inspiring.
What has been your favorite part of your internship so far?
Besides all the perks, like monthly happy hours and intern events, my favorite part of this internship so far is definitely the team that I’m on, HR Services. This team is full of amazing people and we all work so well with each other. They have integrated me into their daily and weekly processes, so between my daily tasks and projects, I’ve definitely been kept busy.
What would your advice be to a student pursuing an internship at FireEye?
To any students who are pursuing an internship at FireEye, my advice would be: don’t be shy! If you want to make the most out of this experience, get involved in as much as you can. Even though I’m on the HR Services team, I got a chance to work at a Career Fair with the University Recruiting team, which was such a great experience and all I had to do was ask! There’s so much opportunity for learning and gaining experience, and it’s up to you to make the most of it.
